This was a vignette tasked to me and two other classmates during my time in Animationsakademien by the cinema Bio Aspen in Stockholm.
If you'd like to see what the cinema does and some works from the classmates taking part, here's their handles:

We had fairly open hands with what to do, but Aspen preferred if we took some inspiration from their bistro with a retro theme majorly taking place in the 1950's.
During the project I was the one in charge of making the background, and so, taking into consideration Pop art came up in about that era, we all decided to try and make that a theme.
Getting into the actual animation I decided to dip my toes back into Autodesk Maya, Since we'd be having a background that moves around quite a bit.
So the work process for me mostly went along the lines of
- Making the base motions in Maya
- Creating the assets needed and preview the looks as a whole in Photoshop
- Finalizing the motions to the assets and tracing them to the 3D animation in After Effects.
